As I sat in my doctor’s office waiting for my annual physical, I noticed a scripture from the
book of Hebrews. It was painted on the wall of the waiting room:
Hebrews 10:24 (NIV) “And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds...”
This reminded me of Jesus’s instructions to His disciples at the Last Supper as recorded by John in John 13:34-35: “A new command I give you: ‘Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’ And of course, the Apostle Paul reminds the churches of Galatia and also the church in Ephesus of our responsibility as followers of Christ to love each other by what we do, not just by what we say. Love each other in word and deed. Galatians 6:10 (NIV) “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
You all know many more scriptures that encourage us to be the people that our God created us to be.Thank God we are all part of a wonderful loving family here at Sun City West Christian Church(SCWCC). Not because of who we are, but because of who Jesus is and we belong to Him!
